The 29th annual Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches will tee off September 23rd through 26th on the Jack Nicklaus-designed layout at Toscana Country Club in Indian Wells, Calif. The tournament gives courses across the world, which share the Nicklaus name and a love for golf, the chance to also share in some friendly competition. The event is open to teams of four from more than 370 courses in the Nicklaus Design family, each consisting of three amateur members, and a golf professional as the team captain. Each amateur will be placed into one of three handicap brackets.
Toscana Country Club opened for play in 2005 after Nicklaus took a 15-year hiatus from designing courses in the California desert.
“My team and I spent a great deal of time in order to create two special and unique golf courses," Nicklaus said of his work at Toscana Country Club. "We were able to create two distinctively challenging yet playable courses because we started with pure land without any physical constraints. I personally walked the Toscana site for hours molding and fine-tuning the design at Toscana. In the end, we created an exceptional golf experience that I am proud to have my name on, and something Members will enjoy for years to come.”
