It hasn't quite sunk in yet for Jason Dufner, but the American has joined some illustrious company after winning the US PGA Championship.
Jason Dufner: Over the moon
A record-breaking seven-under-par 63 moved Dufner into contention at Oak Hill on Friday and he followed it up with a steady 71 in round three to find himself one shot off Jim Furyk's pace heading into Sunday.
While playing partner Furyk produced a final round of 71, Dufner carded a two-under-par 68 to secure his maiden major.
The victory will no doubt help to erase memories of his 2011 PGA Championship collapse when he threw away a five-shot lead and watched as Keegan Bradley went on to win the title.
Although he appeared to be calm and collective during the final few holes, Dufner admits he was a nervous.
"I come across as a pretty cool customer I guess but there are definitely some nerves out there when you are trying to win a major championship," Dufner said.
"It probably has not sunk in. I can't believe this is happening to me. To come back from a couple of years ago when I lost in a play-off feels really really good.
"I decided that I was going to be confident and put my best foot forward and play aggressive to try to win this thing. The last two holes were a little unfortunate but I am happy to get the job
done and it's a big step in my career.
"My name will always be on that trophy and no-one can take that from me. It's a great accomplishment for me."
He added: "It's been a tough day, a long day, and a tough course. It's a great feeling to actually win (a major)."
